Spring Conference 2009
PAHSA Annual Conference; April 26-28, 2009
Dear Presbyterian Homes Colleagues,
Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) is pleased to be hosting this year's Annual Conference for the Presbyterian Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (PAHSA). We hope that you will attend! PAHSA's leadership has planned an informative series of professional development sessions, along with plenty of informal networking and sharing of best practices. In addition to executive leadership, PAHSA members are encouraged to invite board members and fund development staff. Please visit www.pahsa.org to register!
On Monday (April 27th) Linda Valentine the Executive Director of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. General Assembly Council will be speaking and participate in an unprecedented question and answer time with PAHSA membership. Ms. Valentine is the Church's highest ranking executive leader.
On Saturday (April 25th) a special pre-conference workshop will focus on Green Houses and the associated culture change. The workshop will be led by PVM staff and representatives from NCB Capital Impact (the national organization charged with the replication efforts). NCB is working in collaboration with a growing number of organizations around the country, including some PAHSA members. The workshop will include a visit to the Green Houses that were opened in August 2006 on The Village of Redford campus. Please consider attending this pre-conference workshop.
Finally, we at PVM are confident that you will find your experience here in Michigan with your PAHSA colleagues to be a worthwhile investment of your time and financial resources. You'll find that the cost of travel to and from Detroit Metropolitan Airport to be very reasonable, as is the cost of the nearby historic Dearborn Inn. Memorable dining venues have been arranged for Sunday and Monday evenings. You'll be very glad that you decided to attend! If I can be of assistance to you in any way, don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to welcoming you to Michigan!
Warmest Regards,
Roger L. Myers President & CEO
